And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. . . . And God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:7-8, 10b)
This was not judgment day — only morning. Morning: excellent and fair. (William Styron, Sophie’s Choice)

Over the years, I have received many gifts of love and friendship in this little corner of Heaven, and my soul has been healed. Now I find that by default, I am in the role of healer myself, simply by being in the right place at the right time. That knowledge is the sweetest gift of all.
I love that you and spouse are living on the water. I know you must love it. Good to hear from your again. Melva Magee
Melva, I loved seeing your comment! However, I do not live on the water. We did move to Raeford, North Carolina, in 2021, which is much closer to the community college where I still teach. This post was made about a visit to the lake home of some dear friends of mine.
